A new guide aimed at explaining the new SEND Code of Practice to parents has been published by the Department for Education.
This guide is a short, more accessible way to understand Part 3 of the Children & Families Act and the other documents that make up the new SEN and disability (SEND) system.
As well as giving readers guidance as to how to to delve deeper into the Code of Practice, this guide is also a great place to start for parents or the wider public who are looking for an overview of the new system.
Also launched today is the Early Support app, which enables disabled children and young people and those with special educational needs and their families to upload details about their condition and the support they are receiving to share with people closely involved in their life, such as teachers and doctors.
In turn, it will make it easier for those working with children and young people with SEND to understand their needs in an easy and straightforward way.
