What we do
We involve disabled children and young people directly in our
work so that we represent the views of disabled children and
respond to what they tell us.
- Disabled young people are members of our Partnership
Board. They influence how CDC runs and what
work we do. One of our young Partnership Board members is the
Vice Chair of CDC.
- We work with a number of disabled young
consultants, who work with us on specific pieces of work,
for example creating publications or speaking at events
- We regularly speak to disabled children and young people about
the issues that are important to them. We do this so that we know
about the issues that are important to disabled young people and so
that the work we do is good quality.
- 9 disabled young people work with us as Young
Ambassadors. They work on a project to make sure
people who work with disabled young people involve them in
decisions and treat disabled young people as individuals.
- We often speak to disabled children and young
people on behalf of other organisations who we work in
partnership with. This means their views have been central to a
number of high profile projects and campaigns.
