Who we are

The Special Educational Consortium (SEC) is a group of
organisations who protect and promote the right of disabled
children and children with special educational needs to a high -
quality education which meets thier needs.

SEC activity, policy and strategy is developed and overseen by
the Steering Group. The Steering Group is made up of a broad range
of voluntary, professional and local government organisations and
meets ten times a year.

Jennings is the Chair of SEC and chairs the Steering Group.

SEC also has a Parliamentary Group that is particularly active
during the passage of legislation. The role of the Parliamentary
Group is to represent the views of SEC to members of parliament. John
Dickinson-Lilley is Parliamentary Vice-Chair and chairs the
Parliamentary Group.

The Policy Network acts a wider stakeholder group for SEC,
bringining the whole sector together to debate key policy issues.
We invite all organisations and individuals who share our values to
join the Policy Network. Philippa Stobbs is Policy Vice-Chair
and chairs the Policy Network.
