Policy
At the
Council for Disabled Children we work with our members and networks
to influence national policy. We engage with decision makers
including local and national government to help shape policy
development. As well as this we respond to government
consultations and calls for evidence, provide parliamentary
briefings and conduct policy analysis.
As Strategic Partner to the
Department for Education we contribute to the
development and implementation of key policy
initiatives, such as the SEN and Disability Green Paper.
We also channel much of our legislative work on education
through the Special Educational
Consortium (SEC), who work with government when there are
proposals for changes in education policy that may affect disabled
children.
