Strategic Reform Partner work

In May 2013 CDC was announced as the SEN and disability strategic reform partner to the Department for Education.

Our role focuses on three key elements:

  • Policy and practice advice to government on the SEN and disability reforms (as outlined in the Children and Families Bill).

  • Development of information highlighting key aspects of the reform process to help people engage as we lead up to implementation of the reforms (called our Countdown to Change programme)

  • Supporting the disabled children's sector to develop new and sustainable approaches to adapt to these changes

You can download a powerpoint with further information our work as Strategic Reform Partner at this link.

Resources on the reforms

We have developed a number of resources on SEN and disability policy in order to support implementation of the reforms. We also host a range of resources, developed by other organisations, the government and more.
You can see these resources in our resources hub.

Working with other voluntary sector organisations

CDC is working across all the organisations that have funding from the Department for Education to reform and deliver services for disabled children, young people, parents and families. Find out more about these organisations and what they have to offer you.
