Christine Lenehan

Christine LenehanChristine is Director of the Council for Disabled Children (CDC).

Before joining CDC, Christine was a social worker, working in residential homes and for both charity and government organisations.

Christine is an expert in issues that affect disabled children, and was part of the group that wrote the Children's National Service Framework module on disabled children. In 2005, Christine took part in a group that advised the government for the publication Improving the Life Chances of Disabled People.

Christine has been part of many national groups that have advised the government on the rights of disabled children and young people, some of these group include Every Child Matters and Aiming High for Disabled Children.

In January 2009 Christine was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for her work with disabled children and their families.
